How We Are Training Through COVID-19

The coronavirus has quickly impacted our lives in numerous ways. But, there is some good news that we would like to share with you:

  • Strong and fit people (you!) are more capable to fight off a virus and also the first to make a comeback. Through your dedication to fitness, nutrition and your health you have created a buffer against this disease.

  • It’s warming up and we will be able to get outside some more soon!

  • We have been in contact with numerous gyms throughout the nation and world to share best practices on how we can continue to best serve our clients

Here are some general procedures we will be following at the gym:

  • Do not come to the gym if you start to feel sick or show any symptoms of disease. If you are under the weather but still feel like getting a workout in see below for more info on “414 Home”

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds while scrubbing vigorously. Try to do this both before and after class.

  • Cover any coughs or sneezes at the gym with tissues or your elbow rather than your hand.

  • Clean off any equipment you have used at the gym. There are numerous wipes and disinfecting stations set up to make this easier. We will also avoid workouts with numerous pieces of equipment for the time being to minimize any spread.

414 Home

Last, there is the potential that gyms will be forced to shutdown by the government. If that becomes the case we will follow procedures. But, that does not mean you will be missing out on the fitness, coaching and community that we provide. Starting today we will be posting an at home workout on SugarWOD. So, even if you are not sick but feel uneasy about attending the gym you can keep up your fitness. This program is called “414 Home” and can be accessed on SugarWOD by clicking on the “Workout of the Day” tab and then switching to “414 Home”. See this video for a demo of how to find it:

If you do these workouts make sure to log your results and give some fist bumps! You will also notice you can click the “Workout Prep Notes” for more information on how to approach the workout. If needed we will include movement demos and workout demos under this tab as well. These workouts will go live at 8pm just like our normal class workouts.
