Week One of last year’s CrossFit Open
The CrossFit Open is a 5 week celebration of fitness that starts this week! Over the next 5 weeks CrossFit Headquarters will release one workout every Thursday evening. As a gym we will then be doing these workouts together at “Friday Night Lights”. Friday Night Lights will be happening for the next 5 consecutive Fridays at 530pm. This will be your time to come throw down on the workout, cheer on your friends and celebrate with some drinks and fun after. If you are new to CrossFit this is always one of the most exciting times of the year at the gym!
One cool aspect of the Open is that gyms throughout the world will be doing it. There will be a worldwide leaderboard that you can participate in and see where you stand on all of the workouts. This is a great way to track your progress year over year. If you want to get signed up head over to the CrossFit Games site and follow the instructions to register. Here are the details:
What: The CrossFit Open. A series of 5 workouts with two divisions, prescribed and scaled, that everyone at the gym will be able to complete.
When: Friday Night Lights every Friday at 530pm for the next five weeks. Strive to make that time. If you are unable to we will also be doing it in all Friday classes and have a make up session on Saturday at 1030am.
Why: To test yourself and cheer on everyone else at the gym
