Our most exciting and fulfilling event of the entire year is quickly approaching! On Saturday, December 10th we will be holding our fourth annual Charity Challenge. For those of you who have done it before you already know what a blast it always is. If you are new to the gym this is a great opportunity to test yourself in a supportive and encouraging environment, make a charitable donation and get to know your fellow members at our Holiday Party. Here are all of the details:
Who is this for?
Everybody! There will be three workouts as part of the challenge and they are designed to be doable by everyone at the gym. You are also welcome to bring any friends or family that want to check out the gym and see what you can do.
When does it take place?
The event will start promptly at 10am on Saturday, December 10th. The gym will be open at 930am for warm ups. Anticipate the workouts taking about two hours. As soon as the workouts wrap up we will roll right into the Holiday party.
Where will our money go?
All donations will go to Pathfinders Milwaukee. They work with at risk youth in the Milwaukee area through four core initiatives: Housing/Shelter, Education, Family Engagement and Youth Empowerment. They have a great website and I encourage you to check it out to learn more about their programs.
What do I need to bring?
- Donations! We have a suggested donation of $30 a person which can be given via cash or check. 100% of all money raised will go to Pathfinders Milwaukee. If you would like to make an in-kind donation they also have a list of high need items.
- We will provide coffee, brunch snacks and some drinks. But, oftentimes people will bring some holiday treats to show off their baking skills or the fixings for a special holiday brunch cocktail. Do not feel obligated to bring anything but we will appreciate all help. Word on the street is that there will be a limited edition beer brewed for the party!
What about the workouts?
There will be more coming out on the workouts as we get closer to the event. But, there will be three pieces. A strength/power test, conditioning test and a “Classic CrossFit” workout. As mentioned these will be doable for everyone but still present a good challenge for the top athletes.
