06072015 – Summer Soulstice and Goals

**Remember both Yoga and Open Gym are cancelled today to repair some of the gym floor**

Summer Soulstice:  On Saturday, June 20th we will continue with our annual Summer Soulstice pre-celebration.  This year we are going to do it a little bit different by kicking off the party with a workout and then starting the party a little bit earlier than in the past so that we can actually make it to the Summer Soulstice party…  On June 20th, we will not be having a Saturday class.  Instead, we will run “Helen” at 11 am, then grill out, enjoy some beverages, and have various games set up in and outside the gym.  We are planning on hanging out until about 4 or 5 pm before heading out for the Soulstice on the East Side.  Don’t miss it!

Goal Board:  We just wrapped up the first week of our new 7-week cycle.  We will be sticking to the basic structure of:

  • Monday – Snatch and Overhead Squat
  • Tuesday – Pull-ups and Muscle-ups
  • Wednesday – Back Squat
  • Thursday – Cleans
  • Friday – Handstand Push-ups and Deadlift volume

Along with those movements, we will be wrapping up by testing out “Nancy” and “Diane” as well as having another in-house competition (more details to come, but targeting July 18th).  Try to think of some personal goals that you would like to achieve over the next seven weeks and get them up on our goal board!
