Over the next couple of weeks you will begin to see tempo training incorporated into many of our strength movements. What is tempo training? Essentially it is slowing the lift down and focusing on your quality of movement. There are numerous benefits to this style of training:
- Consistent movement quality. Tempo training will allow you to really feel the movement we are doing. You will become aware of area or sticking points with which you are weak and spend a little extra time with them
- More stress on muscles and connective tissue via an increased time under tension
- Strength gains via training variety and stimulus
We will explain how to approach these movements in class so do not worry about that. All you need to do is show up!
